Matters of Representation is a directory of children’s books by diverse authors and illustrators. It began as an instagram page, and is now a searchable website.
Support authors and illustrators who remain the least represented in children’s publishing. Make your home or classroom library diverse and inclusive with stories that represent varied lived experiences of BIPOC in the United States, and around the world.

Industry/educational recommended age appropriateness for the book categories:
Board Books (0 to 3 yrs)
Picture Books (3 to 9 yrs)
Chapter Books (7 to 12 yrs)
Middle Grade Books (9 to 15 yrs)
Young Adult Novels (15 to 18 yrs)
